What happens when new anomalies show up?

Ascendo uses generic and custom algorithms to figure out Anomalies in Time series datasets. If the anomaly looks any different from Normal behavior of assets, Ascendo will be able to catch it, no matter what type of anomaly occurs. However, if there are more variations to Normal behavior, then we retrain the models.

How does human augmentation work?

Our data model and subsequent models are built using “specific” and extendable sets of attributes. Once the source data is connected to Ascendo, we are able to apply existing models. When I search a question I get many solutions. How do I know which solution belongs to which data source?

Every datasource has a specific color allotted to it,so when you see the solutions you can see that they are striped with different colors on the left side.The color code is very clearly shown in the data sources section of the filters i.e every data sources’ color code is shown just besides it.

Why is the Ascendo app failing to install on my slack workspace?

Ascendo was not added to your workspace for the following possible reasons:
After a successful login, you shall be directed to a slack default page asking for permission to install the app in the user’s workspace. Please make sure that you have selected the workspace of your choice in the top right hand corner. This could be a possible reason for why Ascendo has not been added to your chosen workspace.

 

 

After selecting the workspace of your choice, make sure to click on ‘Allow’ - allowing Ascendo to have access to your slack workspace. If ‘Cancel’ is selected - if you refuse to give permissions or click on it by mistake you shall be redirected to a page that indicates a failed installation.

When the app is correctly installed, you shall be directed to the page indicating successful installation of the app.

Having installed Ascendo properly to your workspace, you can add it to any channel in your workspace. When you go to your chosen channel, type in the text box “/add”. Click on the “Add apps to this channel” option.Search Ascendo and click on ‘Add’. This shall add the app to your channel.

What is the Material Master file?

<p>Material Master provides the master attributes for all the spare parts.  This file needs to be managed by the Planner on an ongoing basis.  When new products are released or a part is discontinued, such information needs to be reflected here.</p><p></p><p>Key attributes that are useful from this file are:</p><ul><li><p>Part name (name of the part)</p></li><li><p>A part number also called material number ( unique identifier of a part)</p></li><li><p>Commodity group (used to create commodity-specific rules for depot level mapping</p></li><li><p>Service Fee (explains if the part needs to be covered in a service contract)</p></li><li><p>Other attributes such as product group, family, category, and type</p></li></ul><p>When the planner performs the analysis, Ascendo refers to this file to make sure the part name or material number is indeed correct, and if they don't match provides an error so the planner can work with the customer to take action.</p><p></p>

What is Node to Depot mapping?

<p>Node to depot essentially maps the customer location information to a depot that needs to stock the part.  Customers have the flexibility to store different commodity groups to different nodes.  For example, the same node name with different commodity groups can be fulfilled by different depots.    This type of mapping allows for a flexible way to manage customer locations to depots.  </p><p>When Ascendo performs spares planning analysis, it takes into consideration the node to depot mapping and uses the customer install base part and associated commodity code to find the right Depot.  If a mapping cannot be found, it provides error information.  Planner can use the error records to either omit such records (may be erroneous from the field) or add missing node top depot mapping records.</p>

What are Misnomers Part?

<p>Part may be incorrectly named in the field for various reasons.  Because of this, the part name coming from the field needs to be mapped to a correct part before checking for its validity in the master part data, part cost, and inventory.    This reference data is more of a living data set and allows planners to add based on what they see from the field.</p><p>When Ascendo performs an analysis, if it finds parts that are not recognizable, it provides error records.  These error records can sometimes be corrected by having the correct misnomer records.</p>

What is Hub Only Exception?

<p>Planners can use default and exception rules to keep spare parts only at the Hub (Regional or Global) rather than at a Depot.  These are done for the overall efficiency in managing spares inventory.  Sometimes, it is neither required nor needed to keep parts at every depot.  Instead, some of them can be stored at the hub or global level and support various depots based on actual demand.</p><p>The following is generic support provided by Ascendo:</p><ul><li><p>By default, the HW2 category is used to keep parts only at the Hub</p></li><li><p>For other categories, users can store exception rules here</p></li><li><p>Users can also override the default rules using the exception records</p></li></ul><p>The exception rules are flexible to control to determine if a part needs to be stored at Depot or Hub Or Global Hub or not required at any of the places.</p>

How are Depots used and managed?

<p>Depots reference data provides high-level information on the depots.   The depots are used to find where the part inventory needs to be stored for a  given customer.  The field may provide the information on the install base based on part and a “node”.  These nodes then need to be mapped to a Depot where the spares need to be stocked to address customer demand.  The node indirectly provides an approximation of the location where the products are installed.</p><p>Each can be connected to a Hub.   Hub can be connected to a Global Hub.</p><p>When looking at the Demand we look at the following:</p><ul><li><p>What do we need to stock at Depot?</p></li><li><p>Some parts are never stocked at Depot and they are done either at regional hub or global hub or both</p></li><li><p>Based on the demand we look at the connected regional hub and global hub</p></li><li><p>Based on part type, depot connection, hub exception rules, we determine the demand at the regional hub and global hubs</p></li></ul><p>Read other related sections on Hubs and Hub exceptions for additional details.</p><p></p>

What are Depot Mapping Rules?

<p>Depot mapping rules allow the planners to determine which hub and global hub feed spares into a Depot.  For each Depot, the replenishment can be coming from a different regional hub and each regional hub could be replenished from different global hubs.  The rules are flexible enough to support default as well as exceptions.  Planners can create both broader as well as specific rules to manage this link.</p><p>The rules can be set up to exclude some regional or global hubs.  For example, the rule can be defined such that a Depot can be fulfilled directly from a Global Hub instead of a Regional Hub.</p><p>Ascendo provides a flexible model to support varying business requirements to manage the flow of inventory among global hub, regional hub and depot.</p>

How to fix the errors during Analysis?

How to process a DNA Network Management file?

What are the results from an Analysis?

How does Plan work?

<p>On a daily basis or whenever a new analysis is run, Ascendo automatically performs a full analysis for a given customer across multiple valid spares analysis.  </p><p>It is possible, Field may be managing customer install base information across various network management set such as DNA, TNMS, DNA-Metro or BOM install base.  It is also possible, field may be having Projects, which are time based entities.</p><p>Plan goes through all the analysis done for the customer and calculates the consolidated install base requirements by looking at the following:</p><ol><li><p>Latest install base of DNA type</p></li><li><p>Latest install base of TNMS type</p></li><li><p>Latest install base of Metro type</p></li><li><p>Latest install base of BOM type</p></li><li><p>Any projects that are currently active and need to be supported</p></li></ol><p>Ascendo then performs a consolidated analysis on the spares requirement.  This is important so we do not over plan for a customer because Analysis files are done in piecemeal and we do not want to over plan for parts that span across the analysis files.</p><p>Secondly, the Plan is done using the latest inventory and other reference files so the Supply Chain team gets the most reliable “at the moment” impact and needs to support customer SLAs.</p>

How does Project work and when should we use Projects?

<p>Projects are performed upon request to plan spares for network expansion or to review spares requirements for a sub-set of an existing customer environment.  The user will provide an effective date and optional expiry date.  </p><p>Ascendo contains default rules to retain Project analysis as part o the Plan.  When a Install Base analysis is run for the same network, Ascendo expires Projects associated with that network that are more than six months old.  At any point in time, Ascendo allows a planner to override the expiration of a Project – expiring a Project analysis sooner or later than the default based on the new rule.  </p><p>The entire control of what to do with Projects is with the Planner.  </p><p><br/></p>

Every datasource has a specific color allotted to it,so when you see the solutions you can see that they are striped with different colors on the left side.The color code is very clearly shown in the data sources section of the filters i.e every data sources’ color code is shown just besides it.

What is the typical implementation time?

With http://Ascendo.ai , all we need to do is connect the support data. Once connected, the Ascendo learning engine takes over. Given the whole software is offered as SaaS, the implementation time can be in hours for the customers to start using and realizing value. Typical implementation process involves the following steps:
Access to the source data - CRM and Knowledge Base such as Solution articles
Ascendo performing the modeling
Provisioning of the system to users

Why is now the right time?

Two reasons: One the focus on using the AI and ML is in the forefront of many of the execs. Customer Experience, Self Service and Agent resolution (which is just a portion of our solution) has already garnered enough press interest.
Second: We have seen that our data wrangling and service Ontology can pick the most useful data from what exists - we have seen our customers use 1% of the data they have, while they can use around 33% of the data. We have focused on using the existing data instead of starting the discussion to get the data that is not available nor do we require manual data entries.

What type of connectivity/access do we need to give in the beginning to get Ascendo to work?

We support multiple modes of integration:

  1. We need the username and token information to pull info from the respective CRM systems - we do support standard ones such as Salesforce and Zendesk

  2. We also can consume the data through upload (csv)format to Ascendo

  3. We also can provide open APIs for pushing the data into Ascendo.

We can investigate and suggest the optimum mode for the customers. For the start, we typically have seen the csv/excel upload of data.
